When San Francisco advice columnist Ivy Covington gets a letter from a reader wanting to know if she should let her boyfriend spank her, she is quick to let the girl know that no independent, modern woman would put up with something like that. She gets plenty of comments about her position, none more strident than that from Jake Rutherford, one of the sports columnists she works with. He thinks she shouldn?t be writing about stuff she doesn`t know anything about, and challenges her to a bet. Never one to pass up a dare, Ivy agrees to let him spank her three times. If she likes it, she has to apologize to her readers in her column; if she doesn`t, then Jake has to wear a clown costume to a very formal awards dinner. What could be easier? Especially since she already knows she won`t like it. Things get a bit more complicated, however, when Ivy get nervous and tries to back out before Jake can spank her. But Jake is having none of it, and spanks her anyway. Hard! Should Ivy submit to the other two spankings now that she knows how much they hurt? Would it be worth going through with the spankings just so she can see him in that goofy clown costume? It went without saying that Jake was going to lose the bet. Because there?s no way she could ever enjoy getting spanked. Right?
