But something strange happens to Mona as Alastair feeds on her. She begins to see into his past, and what she learns causes conflict within the ranks. The male vampires rule with an iron hand, after all, and do not like their females to know too much. Mona is seen as a threat. Will Alastair be strong enough to save her from those who think she should be killed? Or can she prove that she is worth more to them alive before Alastair faces his ultimate test?
